This is a painting that I did on a cartoon character called Danny Phantom. When I was in elementary school Danny Phantom was my favorite show and I would watch it on Cartoon Network at 8:00 PM every night. His original name was Danny Fenton and he was just an ordinary kid in high school. One day he was messing around and accidentally blew up his parents laboratory and became a ghost-hunting superhero called Danny Phantom. In this painting I started with a light sketch on the canvas and filled the color in with acrylic paint.

This is a painting of an Astronaut giving a girl balloons. I made this painting to tell a much greater story than what it shows at first glance. As you can see the balloons are each made up of different planets. The boy is actually in love with this girl and he feels like when they are together they are completely alone and have all the space in the world to themselves. The boys name is Astro and in the painting by giving his dream girl the balloons with all the planets he is saying he will give her the universe. In this picture I used acrylic paint and a canvas board to paint it on.

This is a painting of the Ace Family. The Ace Family is a popular YouTube family who is very inspiring and supportive to all of their fans. They are my favorite YouTube channel because their family is so thoughtful and gives back so much to the community. For this painting I did a monochromatic painting for the two people in it, Austin Mcbroom and Catherine Paiz. This is a picture of the new Marvels movie Black Panther. The Black Panther film inspired my portrait because of the meaning and affect this movie had on me. This is T’Challa, the king of an African nation called Wakanda. As king he is given the rightful power of the Black Panther and is trained to use his power to protect Wakanda. The techniques used for this drawing were shading and focusing on the different values. Values in a drawing focus on the different shades and darknesses in certain areas. I also focused on size and balance between his head and body.

This is a picture of a superhero I drew in July when I was spending time in Children’s Hospital. I was in the hospital for two weeks and had lots of time to think and be creative. Batman has always been one of my favorite superheroes and also my go to Halloween costume when I was younger. In this picture I only used pencil and focused mainly on shape and shading.

This is a picture of Dennis Smith Jr. He was drafted as the number seven pick in the 2017-2018 NBA draft. Dennis Smith Jr. attended NC State University and went on to play professional basketball after his first year. The reason I chose Dennis Smith Jr. is because I love his attitude, his playing style, and also his love for the game. The hashtags that I chose for this picture are to represent where he came from, his belief in god, and that he is just a young kid with a dream.

In this picture I did a monochromatic painting of Lil Wayne. A monochromatic painting is a painting containing or using only one color. You use the color of your choice and use white to get the different shades. Black may also be used as a color for shading and giving the painting a different value. I did a monochromatic on his face and upper body then added in red for the hat. The reason I chose to honor Lil Wayne is because he is an inspiration to millions of people and he has been one of the top rappers in the game for years.

Silhouette painting is a technique that I learned in my drawing and painting 1 class. A silhouette is an image of a person, animal, object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single color, usually black, with its edges matching the outline of the subject. In this picture I painted a picture of a dragon, with a background of trees, a lake, and the sky. I chose a dragon as my object because they are magnificent creatures and they are very eye catching in artwork.

Surrealism is a technique that I learned in my drawing and painting I class. Surrealism is a technique where 3 different objects are combined into one picture. In this picture, I combined a plane, a bird, and also a shark's fin. I chose these objects because I am really amazed with how far we came with flying. I also find nature and the abilities of different animals such as birds and sharks very interesting.
